This tutorial will demonstrate how to get the Active Cell’s column or row.

Active Cell Column

This procedure will return the ActiveCell’s column in a MessageBox:

Public Sub ActiveColumn()
  MsgBox ActiveCell.Column
End Sub

Active Cell Row

This will return the ActiveCell’s row:

Public Sub ActiveRow()
  MsgBox ActiveCell.Row
End Sub
