CNET further expounds on the Microsoft Vs. Excel Add-in Developer situation with the article Microsoft registers trademark–19 years late.

“The software giant has approached a number of others about Excel trademark infringements as well”

I wonder who? CNET also points to an interesting link Microsoft Office System Referential Use Guidelines(dated October 26, 2004) which reads:

“Microsoft names and trademarks may not be used as part of the name of another company or its products or services or as part of its domain name, even if your company creates add-ons or solutions for Microsoft software.”

Being one of many with the term “Excel” in my site’s name, I couldn’t help but wonder, “are domain names next”?
